Thomson, Corder & Company ("TCCO", "we", "us") is a civil construction contractor operating in North Carolina. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers this website, our text message program, and information we hold about our employees and applicants.

 

Information we collect

Information you give us.

• When you use our Contact page, we collect the name, email address, phone number and message you send us.

• When you apply through our Job Board, we collect the information in your application and any documents you attach.

• If you are an employee or a candidate, we collect the information needed to employ and pay you — including your mobile phone number — and hold it in our HR system.

• Our website is hosted on Wix, which records standard technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and time of visit, and sets cookies needed to run and measure the site.

 

How we use information

• To answer questions and requests you send us.

• To consider and process job applications.

• To employ, pay and communicate with our workforce, including the text message reminders described below.

• To operate, secure and improve this website.

• To meet our legal, tax, safety and recordkeeping obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

 

Text messages

TCCO sends operational text messages to employees — currently, payroll and timekeeping reminders to field supervisors and foremen. Messages go to the mobile number on the employee’s record in our HR system, and only after that employee has given written consent on a form that says what the messages are, how often they arrive, and how to stop them. Consent is voluntary and employment does not depend on it. Full details are on our Text Message Terms page.

No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party.

We use Twilio to deliver these messages. Twilio processes the phone number and message content solely to transmit them on our behalf.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only where we need to, and only with:

• Service providers who run systems on our behalf — currently Wix (website hosting), Arcoro (HR records) and Twilio (message delivery). They may use the information only to provide their service to us.

• Professional advisers, insurers, and payroll or benefits administrators, where required to run the business.

• Government agencies, courts or law enforcement, where the law requires it or to protect our legal rights and the safety of our people.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not provide it to anyone for their own marketing.

Cookies

This site uses cookies set by Wix that are necessary to run the site and to understand how it is used. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings; blocking them may stop parts of the site from working.

How we protect information

We restrict access to personal information to people who need it to do their jobs, and we rely on the security controls of the systems we use to store it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and for as long as our legal, tax, employment and insurance obligations require. Consent records for our text message program are kept for as long as we need them to show we complied with applicable law and carrier requirements.

Your choices

• You can stop our text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by telling HR or Payroll.

• You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by contacting us below.

• You can decline to give us information, though we may then be unable to answer a request or process an application.

Children

This website is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed, and the current version is always on this page.​
