In 1984, Bob Thomson joined M&A Construction, a small civil site contractor that cleared lots. That company later became Thomson and Co., Inc., and it earned a reputation for on-time performance and quality work. Over the years it grew into a well-respected contractor the development community could count on.

In 2006, Bob hired Wes Corder, a young civil engineer with a degree from N.C. State, to help grow the company. Shortly afterward, the recession hit, and work dried up for contractors across the region. The team pulled together, explored every option, and sharpened its capabilities. It followed its relationships to South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida to get through the downturn.

When the market recovered, the company came back to Wilmington and put the skills it had learned on the road to work, and the business flourished. In 2012, Wes became Vice President and COO, and the company was renamed Thomson, Corder & Co.

Today, TCCO is a full-service site development company. We serve large-scale residential, commercial, and industrial developers across the Southeast. With more than 150 full-time employees and more than 100 pieces of company-owned equipment, we can take on projects of any size and complexity, from initial planning through final grading and stabilization.
